A three-day workshop on Science Film Making is organised by Vigyan Prasar and Film Society of Surat at Delhi Public School Surat from 22 October to 24 October 2016 by leading science film makers. The main objective of this workshop is to teach participants the power of visual communication for science and technology. The participants will learn every aspect of film making; from script to screen. This includes camera handling, editing, titling, adding elements to films like cartoons, graphics and presentation of short films made by the participants.
To highlight the communication of science through motion pictures, a special screening of the biography of Indian mathematician, Ramanujan, is going to be held at 7:00 pm at Valentine on 22 October 2016.
The workshop is open to all the budding young film enthusiasts and students from various schools of Surat who are interested in communicating science through visual medium.
Dr. R. Gopichandran, Director of Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Mr. Nimesh Kapoor, Scientist and Head of Science Films division, Vigyan Prasar, all the members of Film Society of Surat, Mr. Sivakumar, Director DPS Surat and Tapi & Mr. P. Vamshi Krishna, Principal, Delhi Public School Surat have graced the occasion with their presence. Dr C. M. Nautiyal-Chairman of Young Scientists Schemes, Mr Ritesh Taksande-Director of My First Film Organisation, Mr. Naresh Kapadia-Chief Faculty in College of Performing Arts, Surat were the resource persons of this workshop.
This joint initiative taken by Vigyan Prasar, FSS & DPS Surat will greatly influence and encourage the upcoming talents.
